The village of Orlin is well located within the central Bannorn. At the crossroads of major trade routes between the Bannorn, Denerim and Amaranthine, it has long been a significant hub for produce headed to large urban markets. In the past, the steady stream of farmers created a bustling local economy of inns and travelling merchants. The booms were seasonal as would be expected, but a significant amount of revenue was generated and an appropriate portion of those revenues were turned into taxes for one Bann Nicola Baranti.
Recently however, the movement of goods through Orlin has slowed to a trickle amid rumors of locals and travellers both, disappearing from the town, as well as the rising hostility in the locals who remain for outsiders in their town.
The town itself is a loose collection of mostly wooden structures, many of which are either family homes or farms. A few inns still manage to operate and there is a large stone chantry that used to be an old Alamarri fortress that receives regular use.
